| Principal Job Objectives: | This position is responsible for the direct input of geological data into all areas of mining activities including pit and production work, data recording and interpretation using mine maps and plans. |
| Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor and implement ore control systems and mine geology activities
• Daily inspections of all active mining faces and stockpiles • Blast movement monitoring and interpretation with Blast Monitoring Technik (BMT) • Drive all aspects of operational mining hygiene and best practice • Map and sample mine benches and different Rompad stockpiles. • Performs and maintain pit geological mapping. • Performs grade control sampling and drilling chips logging • Assist with QA/QC protocols, data management • Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with Company’s safety and environmental |
| Knowledge / Skills & Competencies: |
• Familiar with MS Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Familiar with database software – Datamine and Surpac experience preferred • Excellent organizational, presentation and communications skills. • Ability to work in multiple-task environment and properly assign priorities. • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support organization’s priorities and preferences. |
| Training / Education requirements: | • Bachelor of Science in geology or equivalent earth sciences degree. |
| Experience required: | • Minimum 3 to 5 years of mining industry experience.
• Experience in a similar role in open pit • Previous experience as a geologist within gold mining is desirable |
| Language requirement: | French and English (will be an advantage) |
