I. RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction management and Project Management of Civilian and Integrated Camp constructions in MINUSMA. As recommended by DPKO and DFS (Guidelines Ref. 2014.17, Governance of Major Construction Projects in Field Missions, dated 01 October 2014), the project management of such projects is contracted out to consultants and these projects require a technical team with multidimensional skills. The mission may require technical expertise in power Ggeneration and electrical maintenance to supplement its in-house capacity.
Thus, the individual contractor will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and handling generators and will have the required knowledge of operating synchronized generator control panels. The generator technician shall ensure that MINUSMA generators are properly installed, synchronized, maintained and run in accordance with the manufacturer instructions.

Responsibilities:
1. Carries out installations on small and large capacity generator sets and related equipment.
2. Carries out scheduled and routine maintenance, emergency repairs and overhaul of generators (static/mobile), including the installation of auxiliary fuel systems, such as tanks, pumps and pit works.
3. Responsible for installing, synchronizing and maintaining generator sets and related equipment within the mission.
4. Responsible for the safe and efficient use of tools and specialized equipment
5. Assists with carrying scheduled periodic and emergency maintenance services on all the installations and equipment.
6. Responsible for applying engineering standards and practices in the installation and maintenance of generators,
7. Ensures the modifications to diesel generator systems, including installation of pre-heaters, battery chargers; fuel systems and other related diesel parts are done in accordance with the manufacturers specifications.
8. Makes wiring modifications to diesel control circuits and electrical apparatus specific to the diesel stand by system as required in accordance with the manufacturers specifications.
9. Investigates, determines sources of problems, troubleshoots and repairs diesel standby and transfer switch system problems.
10. Performs preventive maintenance including checking for leaks, worn parts, taking oil samples; orders and installs replacement parts; adjusts, calibrates and inspects the operation of auto transfer switch equipment.
11. Prepares records of repairs, maintenance, parts ordered, and parts used.
12. Transports equipment, tools and fluids to and from work sites; operates and maintains equipment, tools and safety devices which are designed to lift, move, transport, repair, measure or protect.
13. Monitors and tracks power consumption, fuel consumption and critical functional parameters and keeps accurate figures on daily basis.
14. Performs other duties as assigned

1. Generators are installed in a professional manner in accordance with manufacturer instructions
2. Specialized equipment and tools are used effectively
3. Power is properly stabilized to avoid interruptions.
4. Preventive maintenance is carried out whenever required
5. Operational records are well maintained and made available on request.
6. MINUSMA staff is trained on generator maintenance.

III. QUALIFICATIONS, & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Education: At least a High School Diploma with proven technical or trade qualifications as generator mechanic, electrician or related field is required.
Experience: At least 9 years of experience in installing, maintaining, repairing and handling of generators; practical knowledge of operating synchronized generator control panel EasYgen, 2500 &3200, LexysM, LexySync; experience in fault finding through the Electronic Service Tools (EST), as well as knowledge of Power Wizard Controller 2.0 & 2.1.
