We are looking for a Tax Manager to support all areas of tax for the Africa region. While the role has a particular focus on Francophone West Africa, it will also support the centralised supply chain operations and the Finance and Tax functions on corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax and tax accounting. The role reports into the EMEA Tax Director. The role is located in Bamako working alongside our African Finance team.
Position Responsibilities (in no particular order)
Oversight of corporate income tax compliance/ reporting and review of material entities,
Monitor and communicate relevant tax developments, tax rate changes in EMEA that affect our business,
Quarterly IFRS tax reporting for EMEA Region including return to provision reconciliations, as well as support and training to Finance teams,
Support regional Finance Teams with Corporate Income Tax, WHT, VAT & Customs Audits and tax litigation,
Support the centralised supply chain model and related transactions for both goods and services and the evolution of the commercial operations within the model,
Support VAT and withholding tax reporting and VAT & WHT recovery processes,
Monitor and update the VAT matrix logic in Oracle and customer facing documentation to support supply chain transactions in Oracle and address VAT legislative or practice developments that impact the business transactions,
Work closely with the customs and supply chain teams regarding the correct application of INCOTERMS including supporting the VAT impacts of transfer pricing adjustments,
Supporting entity right sizing projects and business rescaling and provide tax support on commercial transaction review and internal projects;
Reviewing transfer pricing calculations with EMEA Tax Director & US Transfer Pricing Manager;
Supporting transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements and functional analyses within the region
Position Requirements
Tertiary qualified in law, business, or similar relevant experience working for tax Authorities OHADA countries
6 to 10 years of work experience on broad corporate income tax and VAT matters as well as an understanding of the interaction of VAT with customs and transfer pricing.
Broad international commercial experience with exposure to the VAT requirements of ERP systems
Fluent in English and French
Good MS Office skills, experience with Oracle is an asset
Ability to lead and manage multi-functional projects, and has the ability to travel, mainly within Africa (up to one week per month). Focused but able to see and understand the bigger strategic picture.
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with the business and deal with constantly changing business requirements
Confident, dynamic and outgoing personality with a sense of humour. Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and exercise sound judgment and initiative
