SALARY:  Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-8 – 8,188,338 F CFA per year
Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR) FP-6* – US$ 46,093 per year
*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a Class B Cashier position in the Embassy’s Finance Management Office (FMO).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent is designated as Class B Cashier for the U.S. Mission. The Cashier provides for the receipt, disbursement, accountability, examination, safekeeping, banking and replenishment of cash, as well as the preparation of fiscal reports and works with COAST, and Accounting & Cashier software package. The total value of financial transactions processed exceeds $9 million. The incumbent maintains accountability for an alternate cashier and 5 sub-cashiers.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
College or University Level diploma in accounting and two or more years of experience in the accounting field are required.
At least four years of performing in a progressively responsible work in allotment accounting and disbursing or maintaining cash records.
Level III English is required as incumbent must be able to read and understand applicable cashier guidelines in English (English will be tested). Must also interact with Americans at post on a daily basis. Level IV French and Bambara are required as incumbent will interact with senior and working level banking contacts and local embassy staff. Must be able to clearly explain USG rules and regulations and Post FMO policies to colleagues in local language.
Ability to operate a PC, use accounting software and operate calculating machines is mandatory.

Management may consider the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.
Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
