The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking two (2) A/C Mechanic Technicians in the Facility Maintenance Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The incumbent performs skill level works on Air Conditioner in residences and buildings. 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent is responsible for:
Performing, repairing maintenance and new installations air conditioning work in residences and buildings.
Working air conditioning direct expansion systems, chillers, variable air volume boxes, air handling units, hermetic and semi-hermetic systems and components.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing wiring systems, control systems and component.
Ensuring good preventive maintenance practices and experiencing on multiples types of refrigeration and air conditioning systems
Planning and preparing comprehensive material lists. 
Responding to after hour emergency calls as needed.
Exercising sound safety practices.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Junior High School degree required and vocational training or apprenticeship in an institution producing journeyman skills required and three years of air conditioning technician experience OR 8 years of air conditioning technician experience required.
English I (rudimentary), French and Bambara II (limited knowledge) required.
Familiarity with refrigeration equipment technician experience required.
Ability to use the tool of the trade
Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license from Mali within the 6-month probationary period (driving test to be administered).
SELECTION PROCESS:
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizens Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S Veterans are given preference.  Therefore it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.

Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
