SALARY:  *Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): US$24,763 per year                                   
*Ordinary Resident: CFA 2,102,924 per year (Starting salary before benefits and allowances)

The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking two Plumbers in the Facility Maintenance Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The incumbent performs renovation, repair and preventative maintenance work in the New Embassy Compound (NEC), government owned and short leased properties utilized by Embassy Staff. 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent perform’ skilled level general plumbing work to include but not limited to:
Repair of buildings and residences including new plumbing installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of plumbing/mechanical systems (main distribution systems, valves, pipes, sanitary systems, hydraulics, sewage and domestic water treatment plant and storm drains).
Work and supervision of daily hire laborers/helpers.
Maintenance and new plumbing installations on residential and Embassy Compound (NEC).
Driving to various work locations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Primary education and vocational training in the field of plumbing.
Minimum three years of practical experience in the field of building and residential plumbing.
English I, French II (English will be tested).
Familiarity with residential and commercial plumbing maintenance.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Malian driver’s license and pass the Embassy administered driving test within the first 6 months of employment.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizens Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S Veterans are given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
