SALARY: *Ordinary Resident (OR): CFA 1,006,604 per annum (Starting salary before benefits and allowances)
Position grade: FSN-1
*Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): US$17,803 p.a (starting salary Position grade: FP-DD to be confirmed by Washington)

The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking an individual for the position of Janitor for the Embassy’s Facility Maintenance Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
– Cleaning and performing a variety of janitorial services in the Embassy office building, including but not limited to sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, disinfecting, deodorizing and waxing floors, restrooms, lavatories and restroom fixtures.
– Emptying waste baskets and ashtrays, replenishes bathroom supplies, sets and polishes household and /or furniture.
– Reporting broken windows burned light bulbs and clogged drains.
– Using pressure washer to clean exterior of building walls and walkways.
– The incumbent must be able to work independently.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
– Completion of elementary school.
– Level I (speaking and reading) English and French required.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizens Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
