SALARY:*Ordinary Resident (OR): CFA 9,461,487 p.a. (Starting salary before benefits and allowances) (Position Grade: FSN-10)
*Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): US$50,043 p.a. (Starting salary) (Position Grade: FP-5)

The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking an individual for the position of Shipment Supervisor for the Embassy’s General Services Office
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing all shipping and customs clearance functions for the Embassy including DOD, USAID, NIH, CDC and PC.
Handling all incoming and outgoing shipments for personal effects, official and private vehicles, and other USG equipment and supplies.
Managing all paperwork, correspondence and documentation related to customs clearance and shipping.
Supervising the pickup and delivery of UAB and HHE for arriving and departing personnel.
Maintaining contacts with customs and expediting officials at the airport, railway depot, etc.
Supervising and training shipping staff to ensure that the directions given by the American supervisor are carried out.
Reviewing all paperwork, documentation and correspondence regarding customs clearance and shipping information.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A Bachelor’s degree in Language, Social Science, Literature, Natural Science, Political Science, Law, Economics, or Business Administration is required.
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in shipment and transportation is required.
Level 3 (Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing French is required. Level 3 (Working Knowledge) speaking/reading English is required. English language proficiency will be tested.
Detailed knowledge of Malian customs regulations and procedures is required.
The ability to use Microsoft Office platform (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required. Computer proficiency will be tested.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizens Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
