COORDINATOR POSTHARVEST & AGRO-PROCESSING EXTENSION
QUALIFICATIONS
1-The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in agricultural sciences such as food technology or home economics, or other rerated technical discipline. Master’s degree IS an advantage.
2- At least 5 years work experience with research and extension organization preferably in the development and promotion of postharvest and agro-processing technologies.
3- Must have a knowledge of technologies and processes that adds value to agricultural produce.
4- Has knowledge on markets and market networks for agricultural produce.
5- Has proven initiative and leadership skills.
6- Has the ability to write and edit technical reports in the local language and in English.
7- Demonstrate competence in a variety of computer applications, including database, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
8- Willing to do extensive field work. Driving experience is an advantage.
COORDINATOR PUBLICI PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP
QUALIFICATIONS
– MSc degree in Agronomy or an MBA (or equivalent or higher in terms of experience and/or past responsibilities). He or she must be able to have a holistic vision of rural development; a minor in extension; farmers’ organizations and/or private sector linkage will be appreciated. He or she must be business-oriented and understand that technology transfer is not an end by itself but only a tool to achieve prosperity. He or we must have a good gasp of market access for small producers. An experience of 5 years at least is required.
– Should be computer literate;
– Should have proven track record of working with farmers’ organizations, private sector public sector (including researchers);
– Should have very good written and spoken English and French communication skills;
– Willing to accept duties and responsibilities assigned by the Thematic and Country Directors;
– Knowledge of one or more local languages of concerned country considered advantageous;
