Location : Sadiola and Yatela Gold Mine, Mali
Qualifications Required : Be in possession of a Tertiary Qualification in the Purchasing/Procurement, Supply Chain or Commerce disciplines.
Experience Required : Be able to fluently speak, read and write French. Experience in Supervisory or Management position. Dynamic knowledge and understanding of the Supply Chain, Business and the Mining environment. Previous experience and success in managing and leading a team to achieve targets. Working experience in Procurement and Purchasing with emphasis on Long Term Commodity Contracting, Daily Buying of consumables, Site Works and Services Procurement, Tracking and Expediting of Orders/Contracts. A working knowledge of the “Sun” system would be an advantage
Role and Responsibility : Direct Line and Technical responsibility to the Materials Manager – Sadiola and Yatela. Support the Chief Buyers undertaking Enquiries, Adjudications, Contracts and Amendments for the Mine’s day to day requirements of Stock Replenishment, Non-Stock (direct charge buying), Procurement Site Works and Services contracting. Tracking and Expediting of Orders/Contracts to ensure on time receipt/completion. Support the Stores Supervisor in Inventory classification of items critical to production, insurance items and the ongoing identification of obsolete items. Support the Chief Buyer to manage the process of migrating consumable material from Non Contract to Contract. Effectively negotiate service levels to ensure the achievement of targets. Effectively introduce strategies and initiatives to achieve cost savings in the area of inventory management and material purchases. Effectively interact with customers to provide information on progress with purchase requisitions, orders/contract negotiation and placement and expediting. Oversee with the Chief Buyer the relationship and performance of Buying Agents and Freight Forwarders. Remain in touch with the changing global Supply Base to ensure that material/services/ transport/freight forwarding is sourced from the most competitive market. Responsible for the management of; and placing orders/contracts for specific projects including Claims management for under deliveries, damaged and non conforming supplies etc.
