 Full-time, 40 hours per week
SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-10 – 13,508,128 F CFA per year
Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR) FP-5* – US$ 51,560 p.a. (Final grade/step will be determined by work history and availability of funds.)

The U.S Embassy in Bamako is seeking an individual for the position of Security Coordinator in the Embassy’s Regional Security Office (RSO).  
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the supervision of the Regional Security Office, incumbent is responsible for observing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance of post’s 300-person contract local guard program; managing post’s residential security program for 85 facilities; the primary supervisor for the Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission’s 6-person close protection team and the 13-person surveillance detection team. The primary point of contact on all local guard, bodyguard, surveillance detection, and residential security matters between RSO Management, Front Office OMS, Marines, guard force contractor, and coordination with senior local security officials in the Police, Gendarmerie and National Guard
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
Completion of two year university degree is required.
Minimum of five years’ experience working in the law enforcement or security field which includes 2 years supervisory experience are required.
Level III English, Level IV French and Level III Bambara. English Language proficiency will be tested.
Detailed knowledge of Malian laws, regulations, procedures and key host country personnel that influence or have an impact on various post security programs.  Good interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Suite software and photo editor, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel required. Ability to prepare well written and concise inspection reports and work orders is required. Good customer services skills in order to competently assist Mission personnel as required.

Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
