WORK HOURS:
  Full-time, 40 hours per week
SALARY:  Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-7 – 6,254,850 F CFA per year
Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR) FP-7* – US$ 40,665 per year
*Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.

The U.S. Embassy in Bamako is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of GSO Shipping Assistant in the General Services Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent assists the Shipment Supervisor with the supervision of Shipping and Customs Section. He/she arranges for incoming and outgoing shipments of personnel and household effects, privately owned vehicles, and other USG equipment and supplies.  He/she prepares, types, delivers and files documents relating to the shipping and customs clearance of private and US Government property.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.
Completion of University or equivalent school is required.
Two to three year of clerical experience in shipping, transportation or a closely related field
Level III Speaking/Reading/Writing English and French.  (English will be tested).
Good knowledge of shipments requirements and Malian laws concerning automobile import-export, registration and sales.
Good administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office products, or any other job-related computer software systems.

Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Repor
(EPR) are not eligible to apply.
Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
