L’ICRISAT sollicite des candidatures de candidats potentiels au Mali et en Afrique Occidentale et Centrale en vue de contribuer à l’intensification durable de la recherche en Afrique pour la prochaine génération (Afrique en marche). Africa RISING est un programme qui crée des opportunités pour les petits exploitants agricoles et les ménages rurales afin de les aider à lutter contre la faim et la pauvreté grâce à des systèmes d’agriculture durable intensifiés. Les deux candidats retenus seront basés à Bougouni et à Koutiala et rapporteront au coordinateur du projet Africa RISING qui est basé à Bamako.
LE POSTE: ASSISTANT DE RECHERCHE (PERSONNEL RECRUTE AU NIVEAU NATIONAL) CADRE DE L’ICRISAT
Travaillera sous la supervision du coordinateur du projet et aidera à la mise en place des parcs de technologie à Bougouni et à Koutiala.
Collaborera étroitement avec les autres membres du personnel du projet sur le terrain pour recueillir et rassembler les données biophysiques, socio-économiques et la productivité des cultures en vue de les analyser et rédiger des rapports.
Entreprendra des recherches dans un certain nombre de domaines possibles qui incluent, mais ne se limitent pas à: l’agronomie, la gestion des terres et de la santé des sols; la gestion de l’eau, y compris la récolte des eaux de pluie; l’irrigation à petite échelle; les services d’écosystèmes du champ à l’échelle des bassins.
Intégrera des équipes pluridisciplinaires de l’ICRISAT avec les instituts de recherche agricole nationales et les partenaires de développement dans la conception de la recherche et de mise en œuvre.
travaillera dans d’autres projets; WLE et le Système des terres arides au fur et à mesure que cela est jugé nécessaire.
Assurera la liaison et la coordination avec les institutions partenaires sur la mise en œuvre des activités du terrain.
Assistera le coordinateur du projet pour préparer et finaliser des rapports réguliers à la fois technique et financière.
Organisera des ateliers / réunions, etc. tant que cela est nécessaire et est un besoin.
LA PERSONNE doit avoir:
Une maîtrise en gestion des ressources naturelles, de l’agronomie, l’hydrologie, l’écologie, la science du sol, l’irrigation ou dans une discipline similaire avec une expérience de 4-6 ans dans la gestion des ressources naturelles, de l’agronomie, du climat et des domaines de recherche similaires.
Une grande compétence en statistique et de modélisation / SIG forts, la connaissance des applications informatiques et de logiciels pour la gestion et l’analyse des données sur le terrain.
Un niveau élevé dans la conception et la mise en œuvre des expériences.
Une capacité à mener une recherche agricole intégrée pour le développement
Une innovante personne et énergique avec des contributions démontrées dans le domaine de l’agriculture et est engagée à voir les impacts mesurables au niveau des exploitations.
Un excellent niveau en français et en anglais (parlé et écrit)
Une Expérience de travail avec un large éventail de partenaires et intéressé à travailler dans une équipe pluridisciplinaire.
Une volonté de voyager et surtout être apte.
LA REMUNERATION:
Le contrat sera d’un an dans la catégorie des PRN (personnel recruté au niveau national), avec un salaire concurrentiel et d’autres indemnités  annuelles.

ICRISAT is seeking applications from potential candidates in West and Central Africa to contribute to Africa Research In Sustainable Intensification for the Next Generation (Africa RISING). Africa RISING is a program that creates opportunities for smallholder farm households to move out of hunger and poverty through sustainably intensified farming systems. Each of the two successful candidates will be based in Bougouni and Koutiala and report to Africa RISING project coordinator who is based in Bamako.
The Job: Scientific Officer (Nationally Recruited Staff) Cadre of ICRISAT
Work under the project coordinator and assist the establishment of technology parks in Bougouni and Koutiala.
Work closely with other project staff in the field to collect and collate biophysical, socio-economic and crop productivity data, analyze and write reports.
Undertake research in a number of possible areas that include but not limited to: agronomy, land management and soil health; water management including rainwater harvesting; small-scale irrigation; ecosystem services from farm to watershed scales.
Integrate into interdisciplinary teams from ICRISAT and with national agricultural research institutes and development partners in research design and execution.
Work in other projects; WLE and Dryland System as and when deem necessary.
Liaise and coordinate with partner institutions on implementation of field based activities.
Assist the project coordinator to prepare and finalize regular reports both technical and financial.
Organize workshop/meetings etc. as and when needed
The Person:
MSc degree in natural resource management, agronomy, hydrology, ecology, soil science, irrigation or related discipline with 4 to 6 years’ experience in natural resources management, agronomy, climate and related research areas.
Strong statistical and modelling/GIS skills, knowledge of computer applications and software for data management and analysis.
A high level of competency in the design and implementation of field-based experiments
Ability to conduct integrated agricultural research for development
Innovative, energetic individual with demonstrated contributions to the field of agriculture and committed to seeing measurable impacts at farm level.
Excellent in both French and English (both spoken and written)
Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders and interest to work in interdisciplinary team
Willingness to travel.
The Reward:
The contract will be for one year in the category of NRS (Nationally Recruited Staff), with a competitive salary and other annual allowances.
