Job Responsibilities:
Summary of Duties
– Respond to equipments breakdowns and utilise skills and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery.
– Carry out scheduled servicing to rigs and ancillary equipment in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and in accordance with the service sheet.
– Read and Interpret electrical, hydraulic schematics, service and spare parts manuals.
– Report all equipment faults or repairs to Maintenance Supervisor for scheduling.
– Ensure site and maintenance procedures are maintained.
– Assist with training of other tradesmen to encourage a team environment.
– Carry out all repairs in accordance with Boart Longyear Maintenance procedures.
– Complete all service sheets and document additional repairs completed during servicing.
– Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times.
– Advise the maintenance supervisors of parts used and any additional part requirements.
– Must ensure inspections and safety checks are carried out on all equipment before use.
– Must ensure that all tools are serviceable and safe.
– Will work well in both field and workshop environments.
Person Specification
– Holder of at least a technical certificate in the electromechanical field
– Over 5 years of experience in similar role of maintain drill rigs (essential)
– High degree of skill in troubleshooting problems on electric/ hydraulic drilling equipment (essential)
– Competent in the use of electromechanical tools (computer, multimeter,…)
– Good knowledge of general maintenance, hydraulic circuits and diesel engine maintenance
– Driver’s license holder with over 5 years of genuine driving experience
– French speaking and writing. English speaking an advantage.
– Self-starter that will work with little supervision.
– Willing to take courses to further improve skills.
– Ability and willingness to train co-workers when required
– Strong planning skills
– Is driven by challenges and hard work
