Woord en Daad works in the following areas: education, technical and vocational education and training, job placement, agribusiness and enterprise development, basic needs (food security and WASH), and emergency relief. In the Netherlands, Woord en Daad aims to make people, companies and the government aware of their responsibility with regard to poverty worldwide.
We are looking for a regional fundraiser who:
Networks with (institutional) donors in the region;
Identifies fund opportunities for partners;
Identifies capacity building areas for partners, in order to successfully access (institutional) donors;
Trains partners in the area of institutional fundraising;
Coordinates and assists in proposal writing for institutional donors;
Assists partners in contract management, in case a grant is awarded to a partner;
Is a committed Christian (with protestant/ evangelical background).
Qualifications needed:
Relevant working experiences as a fundraising officer in a regional context for more than five years;
Relevant academic qualification (or similar competencies based on previous working experience);
Track record in identifying funding opportunities with institutional donors, monitoring of grants, and management of institutional donor relationships;
Experience with financial and administrative management;
Knowledge and experience with project cycle management methods;
A relevant established professional network in region;
Willing and able to travel extensively;
Fluency in spoken and written English and French.

Place of work: preference for Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), but Cotonou (Benin) or Freetown (Sierra Leone) is negotiable.
