Position: Nutrition/WASH Specialist, Integrated Rural Program to Improve Nutrition and Hygiene Mid-term Evaluation, Mali

Project Summary: 

MSI Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Project (PMEP) is seeking a Nutrition/WASH Specialist to participate in the mid-term performance evaluation of the Integrated Rural Program to Improve Nutrition and Hygiene in Mali. The program aims to improve the nutritional status of women, and children under two years of age through the implementation of integrated water, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition activities at the community level. This mid-term performance evaluation is intended to identify needed improvements in the current program as well as to inform the design of future nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programming.

Position Summary:

The Nutrition Specialist must have significant experience in the planning, design and execution of nutrition and nutrition education activities. S/he shall also have experience evaluating nutrition projects in Africa and shall be familiar with the nutrition policies of Mali.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in nutrition, public health, social science, development studies or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public health nutrition and WASH in Africa, and 10 years in the development sector is required.
  • Must have a demonstrable experience working on health projects in Africa and technical knowledge of nutrition in the Malian context.
  • Must have a very good knowledge of the nutritional and WASH challenges faced in Mali.
  • Must have prior experience as a Nutrition Specialist.
  • Strong research writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate in French and English.
