As a result of the company’s continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for suitably qualified candidates to join the Boart Longyear Drilling Service TEAM in Mali.
Summary of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchase Clerk will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the purchasing Department Operations and interacting with other groups within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Input Work Orders into the Maintenance System.
May load shipment/inventory. Operates material handling equipment.
May operate company vehicle to pick up and deliver materials at various local destinations.
Input Purchase Orders into the Purchasing System.
Managing inventory levels for key commodities.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
Inventory control experience. (cycle counts, etc.)
Supplier relation skills. (Expediting PO’s & assisting with AP issues)
Great Communication Skills.
Demonstrate commitment to quality, and implement management system and its related requirements
Demonstrate commitment to EHS, and implement EHS policies, procedures and legislative requirement
Purchasing of production parts( Tools, fixture, lubricants etc.), purchasing of office supplies
Follow up purchase order or contract to ensure on time delivery
Cooperate with vendor and end user to solve problems such as stock run out, quality problems, etc.
Purchase order and contract filling
Purchase cost analysis and budget
Develop and assess new vendors, and speed up localization
Improve Vendor Assessment system
Improve device and efficiency from vender through vendor assessment and management
Qualifications
Proficient in English
Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or parts room environment
5 years’ experience with mechanical/industrial/drilling equipment parts preferred
Proficient with MS Office software- specifically in Excel
Experience with purchasing and accounting software systems. (Oracle a plus)
Good communication skills with field personnel
Background and experience in field operations a plus
Ability to multi-task in fast-paced, demanding environment
Must be able to work autonomously and/or in a team environment
Must have good attention to detail and meet required deadlines
Valid driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 0-2 years directly related experience.
