The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mali wishes to recruit for the following position:

I. PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under the general supervision of the Chief Programme communication, assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a behaviour change and social mobilization strategy to support UNICEF’s mission in the country.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the political and strategic development of communication for social and behavioral change at the national level by carrying out and/or supporting activities research, and compiling and analyzing relevant data.
Support the forming and strengthening of alliances/partners with institutions (social service providers, community (NGOs, associations, religious and traditional leaders, artists . . .) local medias and private sectors and commit them to obtain the expected results of the Cooperation Programme.
Participate in the conception and implementation of communication strategies culturally adapted and known for the Cooperation Programme
Participate in the design, implementation and pre-test of publications and/or support communication and training (quality, translation, lay-out . . .) and follow their dissemination and usage by the target groups.
Participate in the follow-up and evaluation of strategies and communication activities for social and behavior changes through frequent exchanges with UNICEF and UN colleagues, field visits, and regular meetings with the partners and/or quantitative and qualitative studies.
Formulate recommendations to direct strategies at all levels and facilitate the achievement of the expected results.
III. WORKING CONDITIONS
An office-based post with frequent travel within the country.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education
Advanced University Degree in Social/behavioural Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Heath Education).
Experience
Two (2) years professional work experience in social development, preferably in the areas of participatory communication, communication planning, social mobilization, behaviour change and community empowerment at either national or international level.
Language(s)
Fluency in French and local languages is required.
Working knowledge of English is an asset.
