As a result of the company’s continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for suitably qualified candidates to join the Boart Longyear Drilling Service TEAM in French West Africa.
Summary of Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing the highest level of staffing services to Boart Longyear leaders and associates. This position delivers high quality candidates and advances the Boart Longyear brand across numerous markets and professional communities, while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the Boart Longyear selection process. This individual will recruit and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, and the community at-large. A wide degree of creativity, near- and long-term recruiting vision, business understanding, and personal organization is required.
Specific duties
• Provide exceptional client service and recruiting within Boart Longyear:
• Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
• Leverage online recruiting resources and recruit the very best candidates.
• Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
• Provide complete and accurate information to candidates about the company and position.
• Prescreens candidates. Create and present prescreening questions to hiring managers for collaboration and approval.
• Manage and coordinate all communication with candidates.
• Interview candidates and make hiring recommendations to Managers for individuals in entry-level positions.
• Manage the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
• Prepare candidates for interviewing with Boart Longyear and specific hiring managers by providing detailed information on the company, our business strategy, department background, job descriptions, and expectation-setting.
• Organize, lead and document post-interview debrief/feedback and post-mortems with interview teams and candidates.
• Review the hiring manager’s interview performance with each candidate and take appropriate action when warranted.
• Perform detailed reference checking and/or reference analysis on selected candidates and reviews results with hiring managers.
• Extend offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring managers and HR and within the guidelines of Boart Longyear compensation policy.
• Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and thorough audit if required.
• Initiate and maintain excellent working relations within the Boart Longyear Human Resources organization.
• Use effective communication approaches that include proactively keeping others informed, appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form, and timeliness.
• Work cooperatively with all members of the staffing team to develop and implement staffing plans and activities.
• Participate in the development of on-going creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
• Develop an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate.
• Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-Art recruiting practices.

Selection Criteria
The right person will possess or be working towards the following position requirements:
– 1 to 3 years of experience in full lifecycle recruiting, preferably in the mining or drilling industry.
– A working level of knowledge in all full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, assessing, legal, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management, and due diligence.
– French and English Language Skills
– Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
– Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible.
– Prefer knowledge and past use of a server-based applicant tracking system, preferably Kenexa.
– Project management, writing, and oral communication skills are required.
– Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
– Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
– Must be Internet savvy
– Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures. Strong knowledge of

– Team Player; VERY organized (precise with regard to documentation & follow up)
– Ability to be flexible
– Fluent in spoken and written English.
