Summary of Responsibilities
– Reporting to the Asset & maintenance Manager for French West Africa, The Zone Planning and Assets Supervisor is responsible to:
– Provide planning and effective management of maintenance services and assets for surface drilling and the Fund in the area.
– Ensure the use of good business practices and compliance with legal requirements, including the selection, transfer and disposal of assets.
– Ensure through audits, maintenance of underground drilling services and all surface drills, heavy and light vehicles and auxiliary equipment to support the engagement of Boart Longyear to create a highly productive working environment.
– Optimizing the costs and maintenance shutdowns
– Support and assist development initiatives and improving production and other business units identified
– Establish and maintain synergies between all maintenance units in the area, ensure value in the region.
– Form a network of expertise with colleagues in similar positions in other areas.
– Advise and make recommendations to the technical staff and purchase, promote and maintain the best interests of Boart Longyear in respect of ensuring that we achieve and maintain leadership in the industry in the management and maintenance of assets available.
– Supplement the Asset & Maintenance Manager in the absence
Specific duties
Asset / Actif
– Develop an action plan to improve planning for maintenance of assets, provide advice and services in accordance with the strategies of the company and ensures that they operate efficiently and effectively in the best interest of the client and region or division, while respecting the relevant statutory bodies.
– Contribute to the development of new products and participates in the identification and selection of components to properly secure and compliant assets are made available to the operational team.
– Manage services program parts taking into account the size of the park, logistics and standardization.
– Liaise with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of spare parts.
– Maintain standard specifications for equipment and work on the rationalization of capital goods.
– Ensure asset register and asset base is maintained with the transfer of assets, acquisitions and disposals are properly documented.
– Advise all stakeholders of Boart Longyear concerned about cost optimization
Maintenance
– Manage the integration of existing systems with the asset register and maintenance of computer system components program management resource planning
– Develop and oversee a systematic maintenance plan and monitor the reliability of the assets in the area
– Introduce methods to capture and control the overall cost of maintenance and in turn develop cost-saving initiatives and improvement programs
– Provide a means for measuring the performance of the maintenance company
– Optimize current practices in the construction of the nomenclature and standardization, scheduling of service provided, service levels and inventory critical.
– Build on the dynamic relationship with the production of drilling operations to capture and collect the causes and comprehensive data on points of failure.
– Prediction of maintenance budgets.
– Develop a strategy for maintenance planning with customer-oriented alignment of objectives and overall business needs
– Liaise with strategic sourcing on the rationalization of suppliers and spare parts to achieve continuous improvements in operational efficiency and grading costs.
– Keep track of surplus and idle equipment, including their storage locations.
– Compile information and maintain records of equipment (including OEM identification numbers, photographs, service records, registrations, licenses, etc.) in respect of all equipment (equipment production, mobile equipment, vehicles and auxiliary equipment fleets)
Planning
– Planobjectivesin the short, medium and long termapproach andensure thatappropriate strategiesaredeveloped and pursuedtoachieve, for example, level ofcustomer service, audits and compliance of equipment withregulatory requirementsand customers, maintenance recommended by the manufacturers, collateral management.
– Prepareannual plansof reconstruction,maintenance budgetsof the Zone
– Plantechnical and safetyinspectionsof the assets managed
– Manage andplan the activitiesof staff, holidays and working hoursof maintenance.Suggestoptimization
– Manageall technical documentationof the variousequipment
– Alertedto the faults ofquality and performanceof maintenance services

Financial / Budgeting – Finance / budget
– Assist in the preparation of annual budget expenditures for maintenance, reconstruction of equipment and management of new capital goods.
– Assist in the Control Section expenditure of maintenance in accordance with the approved budget to achieve maximum profitability.• Aider à la Préparation du budget des dépenses annuelles pour l’entretien, la reconstruction des biens d’équipement et la gestion des biens d’équipement nouveaux
Staffing / Equipe
– Ensure that the staff he would be responsible receive adequate training and development opportunities based on corporate training and development policy
Occupational Health and Safety / HSE
– Ensure staff he would be responsible to understand and observe the health, safety policy and rules and also follow the safe work procedures.
Reporting
– Maintain a high-level information through meetings and frequent exchanges, keep a record of reporting to date. Keep daily record of availability, costs and expenses
Remuneration

Selection Criteria
The right person will possess or be working towards the following position requirements
– At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
– Good leadership skills
– Exceptional communication skills (English, French) and able to communicate at all levels
– Excellent organizational and time management skills and a strong sense of urgency
– Strong computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
– Good knowledge of the mining sector and maintenance activities
– Able to coop with stress and work outside ‘normal’ hours
– Ability to « sell » ideas and strategies
– An experience as a Driller will be an advantage
– Able to coop with extensive travel
Personal abilities:
– Team Player; VERY organized (precise with regard to documentation & follow up)
– Ability to be flexible
– Fluent in spoken and written English.
