Vacancy : Superintendent Procurement and Purchasing
Department : Procurement and Supply Chain
o Societe Ashanti Goldfields de Guinee (SAD) and
o Société d’Exploitation de Mines d’Or de Sadiola (SEMOS)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above-mentioned positions.
A. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain and Law
2. Experience in a Management position
3. Dynamic knowledge, experience and understanding of : Procurement (site works and services contracting) Purchasing (daily buying and long term supply contracts) and the supply chain in a mining environment.
4. Proficient in Frencg (writing, reading and speaking)
B. JOB CONTENT AND DUTIES
1. Direct line responsibily to the individual Materials Managers for SEMOS and SAG
2. Content and Duties
– Enquiry, adjudication, contract, amendment and contract administration functions for local and international contracts
– Maintain dynamic cost and service information to model commodity pricing market cost changes for effective Procurement and Purchasing at the most competitive cost and quality
– Establish contract templates based on accepted commercial conditions and according to the laws of the country
– Effectively structure and manage contracts within the country requirement fot VAT, Withholding Tax and Corporate Tax and at the least legal risk to the compagny
– Expand the use of contracts based on FIDIC general conditions of contract
– Manage cost applications and negotiations
– Proactively manage the relationship with AGA Group Procurement, AGA Daily Buying and 3 rd Party Service Providers for contractual compliance
– Implement cost saving projects and manage deliverables
– Implement a dynamic Supply Base and manage the process to increase local spend
3. Develop and maintian proactive relationship:
– undertake Performance appraisals
– maintain and publish Management report
– introduce training programmes for employees and proactively mange localisation programmes
5. Strategy, Innovation, Policy and Procedures
– continually challenge current processes, investigate and introduce approved Supply Chain enhancements
– ensure that all transactions are supported by Policy and Procedures
C. SALARY: Salary will be in accordance with the AngloGold Ashanti Schedule of Salaries
