Description : The Senior Evaluation Geologist is primarily responsible for producing Mineral Resource Models utilizing verified data from Geology and Assay laboratories.
Location : Sadiola Gold Mine, Mali
Qualifications Required : Relevant tertiary education in BSc Geology (Hons)
Experience Required : Minimum 5 years mining experience preferably in the gold environment with an open pit background. 2-3 years resource estimation experience preferably using Datamine software. Suit dynamic person with the ability to work under pressure.
Role and Responsibility : A major component of the Mineral Resource models comprise of routine grade control models to be used for monthly gold accounting and short term planning. In addition assistance is to be provided with regard to the evaluation and updates of Mineral Resource models for the different projects at Sadiola, which are used for annual reporting and the Business planning process. Compliance to the JORC code and AGA internal standards are compulsory when producing these models. In order to perform the above role the following additional responsibilities are to be undertaken; Ensure effective quality assurance and quality control on both the drilling and Assay laboratory data. Ensure integrity of geological database by imposing the necessary controls for data downloads. Compile appropriate reconciliation of Resource models / Reserve Models to Grade Control models to gold produced. Support geologists to ensure that the various technical systems are up to date and are being used effectively. Provide training in Resource modeling, evaluation, planning of drill holes and technical computing to subordinate staff. Undertake annual reviews of methods and procedures to improve results. Ensuring the timely and accurate estimation and reporting of mineral resources to meet JORC standards. Updating geological block models with recently acquired exploration data. Liaison with mining engineers on economic evaluations.
Additional Information : The incumbent will report to the Geology Manager. A single status contract would be offered.

Remuneration : The successful candidate will be appointed on an expatriate 1-2 year contract, which may be renewed after the initial period. „X A US Dollar denominated salary package with regular leave breaks.
