Title : Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor (Morila)
Description : The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, execution and monitoring of the rebuild and maintenance program of the Alliance Partners (Mining Contractor) to ensure 75% HME plant availability in order to meet production targets.
Location : Morila Mine, Mali
Qualifications Required : Trade test Certificate (Mechanical , Heavy Mobile Equipment)
• Be in possession of a valid certificate of fitness
Experience Required : Minimum of 10 years job related experience, with at least 5 years at Foreman level
• Strong leadership skills.
Role and Responsibility :
• To maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards pertaining to his/her area of responsibility
• In conjunction with the contractor, assess machine condition and design an effective rebuild program to ensure the required target equipment availability is achieved
• To review and sanction component rebuild application forms and recommend for approval before equipment rebuild is carried out
• To coordinate and monitor the equipment rebuild programme of the “Alliance” to ensure that rebuild is performed according to standards and in a cost effective manner
• To facilitate and maintain exemplary communication between the Alliance partners and the OEM’s.
• To review and recommend for approval all monthly rebuild certificates
• To monitor core charges and refunds on component rebuild
• To review and implement equipment replacement policy in conjunction with the Alliance partners
• To review CAPEX budget and applications of the Alliance
• To advise the Alliance with respect to ongoing component risk management to ensure target equipment availability in a cost effective manner
• To demonstrate specialist knowledge in terms of equipment or technical processes involved
• Review and advise Morila Management with respect to the competency of the contractor maintenance staff
• To have the necessary administrative knowledge of AngloGold Ashanti’s administrative systems
• To promote financial performance in his / her area of responsibility and to meet the set budgets and targets
• To ensure security (Asset Protection) parameters are adhered to
• To have a sound knowledge and understanding of the commercial environment in which the company operates
• To train a Malian National as his/her long term replacement
• Any other jobs assigned by the Mining Manager
Additional Information : The successful incument will report to the Mining Manager
Closing Date : September 7, 2007
Remuneration : The successful expatriate candidate will be appointed with a 2 year contract, a competitive US dollar based salary and regular leave breaks.
