Description : Establish direction, control and standards within the Store section to ensure the efficient and timely ordering and storage of stock items and direct orders to end-users and Departments
Location : Morila Mine, Mali
Qualifications Required : Be in possession of a Tertiary Qualification in the Purchasing/Procurement, Supply Chain or Commerce disciplines The job demands knowledge of: best practice of store management and supply knowledge. Commercial and mercantile law. Basic technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical equipment. Business management and administration skills. Computer knowledge. Knowledge in Mainpac an advantage but not essential. Procurement ethics. The job demands Supply management certificate. Delegation and interpersonal skills. Initiative and drive. Time management. Negotiation skills. Communications.
Experience Required : Experience as a supply and store team leader. Experience in mining supply management. Experience as a section or department head.
Role and Responsibility : POSITION OUTCOMES ACHIEVING RESULTS Policies and procedures followed Usage of goods and equipment monitored Required stock levels maintained Warehouse control reports submitted Stock re-order report actioned and submitted Stock items available when required by end-users Warehouse stock-takes carried out when required Daily transaction list maintained Monitor data input in Sun system Stock count discrepancy reports completed Catalogue produced in required format Slow moving stock reports submitted Minimum and maximum stock levels monitored and action implemented to address discrepancies/usage/shortage Monitor delivery lead-time for stock orders Stock codes assigned to new items Plan store layout and bin location for stock items allocated Plan and coordinate daily store activities (receiving/despatch/issues and stock-take) Monitor fuel and reagent stocks on a regular base SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING Ongoing training program for store personnel in place Operators trained in safety and correct equipment usage SERVICING OTHER DEPARTMENTS Communications maintained with Purchasing and end users Departments MANAGING TEAM AND STAFF Team and individual performance monitored and required actions implemented Hiring and dismissal recommendations made to Materials Manager Reward and Discipline recommendations made to Materials Manager Housekeeping standards maintained Staff rosters and manning levels maintained at required levels Leave roster in place and followed Correct safety procedures carried out at all times CONTRIBUTING TO IMPROVEMENT Obsolete and surplus items for disposal reported. Improvement to systems and procedures recommended to Materials Manager. Recommendations made to increase efficiency. Store safety and information meetings conducted. MANAGING INFORMATION Computer input accuracy monitored and actions taken to correct discrepancies
