VACANCY: MINE: Sadiola and Yatela Gold Mines – Mali

AngloGold Ashanti Limited – Africa Open Pit Mines is seeking a Materials Manager for it’s open-pit joint venture gold mining operation, Sadiola and Yatela Mines in Mali.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
– Tertiary qualification in commerce, supply chain and logistics
– Experience in a management position
– Dynamic knowledge and understanding of the supply chain, business and the mining environment
– Working experience is required in procurement, purchasing, inventory, warehouse management, logistics, sea and air freight, Safety and Health.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement – ensure effective management of
– the contracting process for site works and services
– the establishment of contrats at the least commercial and legal risk
– the contracting service provited by AngloGold Ashanti Johannesburg Procurement
Purchasing – ensure effective management of:
– the purchasing relationship with appointed buying agents
– the conclusion of orders at the least commercial and legal risk
– the consumable buying service provided by AngloGold Ashanti, West Wits (Carletonville)
– the reconciliation of the Goods in Transit account
Inventory Management and Warehousing – ensure effective management of:
– the inventory process including stock classification, level setting and redundancies
– the warehousing process including receipt, safekeeping, audit and issue
– the stock replenishment process
Logistics
– ensure proactive manegement of the logistics transport route to ensure cost effective and timeous receipt of material
– actively manage the customs duties process from identification of tariff numbers to authorisation of customs payment
– ensure compliance to the Cyanide code, in conjunction with metallurgy, for contract conditions, storage and transport
Relationship with suppliers, customers, subordinates and AngloGold Ashanti
– develop and maintain proactive relationship
– undertake performance appraisals
– maintain and pubish management reports
– introduce training programmes for employees and proactively mange localisation programmes
Strategy, innovation, policy and procedures
– continualy challenge current processes, investigate and introduce approved supply chain enchancements
– ensure that all transaction are supported by policy and procedures
CONTRACT STATUS: Married status (accompanied or unaccompanied)
REPORTING TO: Senior Financial Manager and a technical reporting line to the manager: Commercial Services within the Africa Open Pit Mines, Regional Office.
