The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mali, wishes to recruit Malian national for the following position:

I. PURPOSE OF THE POST : Under the direct guidance of the Project Officer Child Protection, responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned programme/project(s) within the Child Protection component of the UNICEF Mali cooperation programme.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Assist in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned specific projects, as part of Child Protection component.
– Assist in the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Ensure exchange of information with all partners in the field of children’s protection. Share experience in participating in workshops and consultations at country and regional level.
– Participate in the development of the Child Protection section workplan, ensure compliance with specific assigned objectives. Analyze and evaluate data to ensure achievement of objectives and/or take corrective action when necessary to meet programme/project objectives. Assist in the development and the reinforcement of capacity building of government counterparts and its follow up. Ensure notification of emergent issues in the field of children’s protection. Provide regular feedback to supervisor.
– Assist in collection and analysis of data relating to child protection for the Situation Analysis, programme/project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation purposes. Prepare tables, graphs and other statistical reports.
– Contribute to the preparation of sectoral documents for the UNDAF and Country Programme document, Plans of Action, Programme Mid Term Review, Project proposals , Donor reports etc… Contribute to the debates and programmes of the UN agencies, bi and multilateral cooperation.
– Undertake field visits to monitor Child Protection programme activities, as well as conduct periodic programme reviews with government counterparts and other partners active in the field of protection of women and children.
– Propose and/or undertake action on operational procedures affecting project implementation and management. Provide technical advice and assistance to government officials and other partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme/projects. Closely work with the delegates for children for meeting the objectives of the programme.
III. QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
1.) Education: Advanced University degree in Law or/and Social Sciences or/and Development Management or related technical field.
2.) Experience: Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation in related field. Experience in an international organization is an asset.
3.) Language(s) : Fluency in French and working knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of the local language is also required.

· Good level of computer literacy systems and applications, Microsoft package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.);
· Good judgment, initiative, high sense of responsibility, organizational and analytical skills.

· A detailed CV;
