Description : The successful candidate will be responsible to identify skills shortcomings in area of responsibility and arrange for appropriate training.
Location : Morila Gold Mine
Qualifications Required : National Higher Diploma or N6 plus Registration with ECSA
Experience Required : Apprenticeship in Instrumentation plus appropriate practical experience Wonderware Scada development, PLC direct, Omron and Allen Bradley programming and networking experience Knowledge and experience with general field instrumentation is essential Experience on Metallurgical Gold Plant processes is essential Should be highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to produce as he will have to manage all aspects of the Plant Instrumentation Department Must be prepared to do standby duties and receive Senior Instrumentation Technician when required Be prepared to work in a multi-cultural environment where no discrimination and abusive language will be tolerated Be prepared to work in very hot and demanding environment French communication skills would be advantageous Must be physically fit
Role and Responsibility : To identify skills shortcomings in area of responsibility and arrange for appropriate training Responsible for working towards achieving optimum equipment availability Development, implementation and commissioning of Scada and PLC control systems Maintain software for Scada and PLC systems and ensure backups are available Apply standard specifications and procedures to all work done anticipating Safety at all times Liaise with all other disciplines in order to maintain good communication
Additional Information : Reporting to Senior Instrumentation Technician
Closing Date : November 3rd, 2006
Remuneration : 1-2 year contract. US dollar based salary.
