Position supervises and manages all custodial activities on the New Embassy Compound (NEC) and other US Government-owned properties.  Responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day work programs of a team of 12 Custodians.  When short-handed or as required by the circumstances, position performs basic custodial duties. Maintains adequate levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and re-orders as necessary.

Qualifications and Evaluations

EXPERIENCE:  One year of experience working in the custodial field in an office environment that includes at least six months of supervisory experience for more than 4 subordinates.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have knowledge of cleaning techniques, hazards of common custodial tasks, cleaning chemicals and techniques for their use, and proper use of custodial tools and equipment.

Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school (or host nation equivalent) is required.

English: Limited Knowledge of English – Reasonable confident in speaking English and able to handle social situations and casual conversation and limited work requirements. Able to write simple texts and fill out forms.

This may be tested.

French or BambaraGood Working Knowledge – Good vocabulary and understanding of grammar and able to construct sentences. Able to use French or Bambara as part of normal work duties including having conversations with customers and answer questions.

This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess good vision, have the ability to discern odors, ability to work collaboratively, ability to handle stressful situations, work under pressure and motivate others.
