PURPOSE OF THE POST
On the basis of the program cooperation with the government and its Core Commitments to Children in Humanitarian Action (CCCs), partnerships and collaboration agreements are part of UNICEF’s main efforts to uphold the rights of women and children.
Under the direction of the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Specialist, the incumbent will provide writing, proofreading and editing expertise to the Country Office.  The incumbent will work in close collaboration with the Child Survival Section and / or the Education, Protection and Communication for Development sections.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The objective of this post is to serve as the focal point for contribution management and reporting related support within the sections. Main responsibilities include:
Work in close collaboration with programmes to deliver quality and comprehensive proposals and donor reports respecting the different donors requirements and deadlines;
Assist the Heads of Programmes in developing fundraising proposals and donor reports;
Supports the Resource Mobilization Specialist to timely identify unfunded/underfunded projects/sectors and prepare relevant funding proposals to potential/interested donors;
Supports the Reports Specialist to ensure timely and quality donor reports (mid-project and end of project);
Edit and proofread materials and be capable of adjusting writing style for targeted audiences;
Provide support as needed for Country Office Annual Report and other support as required.
Project Deliverables:
Under the direction of the Resource Mobilisation Specialist and/or Reports Specialist, provide support to programmes to ensure timely and accurate proposals and reports for donors.
Write ‘box’ proposals for some or all of the following programme sections: Education, Protection, Communication for Development, Child Survival and Development (Health, WASH, and Nutrition).
Assist in the development, consolidation, drafting and editing reports and papers, for example: Situation Report, Annual Report, Mid Term Review, Country Programme Document, etc.
REPORTS TO:  Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Specialist, and works in close collaboration with Child Survival and/or the Education, Protection and Communication for Development sections.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Education: Advanced University degree in Communication, social or political sciences, or related field.
Experience: At least 2 years of professional work experience in a similar position.
Provision of editorial services in a deadline driven environment
Proficient knowledge of the United Nations, UNICEF, and humanitarian affairs.
Language(s):  Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
Competencies required: Communication III, Working with people II, Drive for Results III, Formulating strategies and concepts II, Analyzing II, Persuading and Influencing II
General knowledge of:
Proven skills in communication, advocacy and negotiation
Experience working in a developing country is an asset
Computer systems, including internet navigation, office applications, and specifically, interactive digital media
United Nations or other international organizations; good understanding of world affairs, current events and international development issues.
